CDF succeeds in GlobalGiving’s Accelerator, becomes recognized partner of GlobalGiving

Ottawa, February 3, 2017 - CDF announced today that they have graduated from the GlobalGiving Accelerator program, gaining entry into the GlobalGiving marketplace and becoming a recognized partner of GlobalGiving. As part of the Accelerator, CDF successfully raised over $8,000US from 62 unique individual donors to support their project, Women Empowering Women in Africa and Asia. Their success in realizing this amount and number of donations in such a short time, means that out of 300 charities invited into the Accelerator Program, CDF placed 13th.

"We're thrilled to have CDF as part of our community. CDF has met our rigorous vetting standards for trust and community support, and we're committed to providing tools, training, and support as they learn, grow and become more effective," said Mari Kuraishi, President and Co-Founder of GlobalGiving. "GlobalGiving donors value the opportunity to support nonprofits like CDF, knowing that they'll get regular updates about how their donations are put to work."

"A life-changing training program for women in developing countries - the Women's Mentorship Program (WMP) - is a unique opportunity for women to learn management skills and financial best practice from other women managers, and expand their professional skill set in areas of employment normally dominated by men. The experience promotes gender equality. It transforms careers, credit unions and communities by teaching skills that enable women to be successful managers of co-op financial institutions.", said Vito Scuderi, Program Manager at CDF. "Visit our project, Women Empowering Women in Africa and Asia, to learn how even $10 can make a difference. We're $1,435 away from our overall goal of $10,000."
