CDF Canada and TYEGD Partner to Empower Youth and Advance Gender Equality in Tanzania
The Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF Canada) is proud to announce a new partnership with Tanzania Youth Espouse for Gender and Development (TYEGD), a youth-led organization working to advance gender equality, climate action, and economic justice across Tanzania. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to uplifting the voices of young people and women through inclusive, community-owned development rooted in co-operative values.
CDF Canada and TYEGD will collaborate on initiatives that promote gender-responsive co-operative development, strengthen youth leadership, and foster climate-smart agricultural practices. At a time when youth unemployment, gender inequality, and environmental instability continue to challenge progress across the region, this partnership recognizes the transformative potential of young leaders in shaping more just and resilient systems.
TYEGD was founded with the mission to champion youth and women’s rights through advocacy, education, and community-based programming. With experience spanning policy engagement, sustainable agriculture, and grassroots mobilization, TYEGD brings deep contextual expertise and a strong network of community partners. Their intersectional approach to development aligns with CDF Canada’s own commitment to equity, sustainability, and inclusive growth through the co-operative model.
This partnership will support knowledge exchange, collaborative project design, and the advancement of gender and youth-focused programming across Tanzania’s rural and peri-urban communities.
