CDF Canada and ANE Partner to Address Humanitarian and Climate Challenges in Ethiopia

ANE, Action for the Needy in Ethiopia | ANEThe Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF Canada) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Action for the Needy in Ethiopia (ANE), a leading humanitarian and development organization working to improve the lives of displaced and vulnerable populations across Ethiopia and the broader Horn of Africa. This partnership reflects a shared vision of resilience, sustainability, and inclusive community development through the co-operative model.

CDF Canada and ANE will collaborate on initiatives that respond to complex humanitarian and climate-related challenges, with a strong focus on co-operative development, environmental sustainability, and food security. At a time when communities across the region face ongoing displacement, climate instability, and socio-economic exclusion, this partnership reinforces the need for integrated, community-led solutions that center local voices and long-term peacebuilding.

Since its founding in 2012, ANE has impacted over 4.8 million people through a wide range of programs in shelter, livelihoods, energy, food systems, and environmental protection. With a growing presence across nine regions in Ethiopia and cross-border work in Kenya, South Sudan, and beyond, ANE is recognized for its agility, depth of field experience, and commitment to inclusive, systems-based approaches. These strengths align directly with CDF Canada’s co-operative values and locally grounded development strategy.

Together, ANE and CDF Canada will explore joint project design, climate-smart agricultural practices, and knowledge-sharing opportunities to strengthen cooperative resilience and contribute to durable, community-owned progress. The partnership reflects a mutual belief in locally driven change—and the transformative potential of co-operation to meet today’s most urgent challenges.
