Climate change is having a growing impact on Africa with a significant impact on food security. Data and technology can help make sound decisions towards the rising challenge of food security.
CDF Canada and Kumva Insights are pleased to announce their partnership to mutually support co-op communities in Africa for better agriculture and rural development, promote gender and reduce the negative impact of climate change.
The partnership will collectively work on projects that will help accelerate agriculture and support rural development.
Mr. Kennet Christensen, COO, of Kumva Insights, said, “It is crucial that organizations supporting initiatives in Africa collaborate to increase our impact jointly. We look forward to working closely with CDF Canada to help farmers and farming cooperatives boost their productivity and increase their resilience to climate change by deploying remote sensing technology and data-driven advisory services via mobile.”
Commenting on the collaboration Mr. Benoit Andre, Executive Director CDF Canada, said, “Data will play a crucial role in setting the goals for future projects. This partnership will combine the implementation experience of CDF Canada with the strengths of Kumva Insights, thus supporting co-ops to achieve long-term goals.”
CDF Canada and Kumva will participate in joint projects and research initiatives through this collaboration, share best practices and lessons learned, and provide training.
