What is the Women’s Mentorship Program?
The Women’s Mentorship Program (WMP), a program delivered by the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF Canada), is a life-changing opportunity designed for women like you — leaders working in credit unions, SACCOs, and financial co-operatives.
For over 20 years, WMP has brought women managers from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean to Canada for a month of learning, mentorship, and exchange. The program combines classroom training with a mentorship placement at a Canadian credit union, giving you both the knowledge and the hands-on experience to strengthen your leadership.
WMP is rooted in the co-operative principle of “co-ops helping co-ops”. Canadian credit unions open their doors so you can learn directly from their operations — and at the same time, you bring your own expertise to share with them. Together, you and your peers form a global network of women leaders who continue to inspire and support one another long after the program ends.
