CDF Canada and AAIN Partner to Advance Job Creation and Food System Transformation Across Africa
The Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF Canada) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN), a pan-African platform supporting agribusiness innovation, entrepreneurship, and incubation across more than ten countries. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to transforming food systems, expanding inclusive economic opportunities, and strengthening the co-operative ecosystem through innovation and capacity building.
CDF Canada and AAIN will collaborate on initiatives that accelerate co-operative development, promote youth-led entrepreneurship, and strengthen climate-smart agricultural practices. At a time when African food systems face increasing pressure from climate change, market volatility, and youth unemployment, this partnership brings a bold, systems-focused approach to inclusive economic development.
AAIN works with incubators, accelerators, and enterprise support organizations in countries including Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, and Nigeria, and is an official technical partner to the African Union Commission. Its mandate includes agribusiness incubation, market access facilitation, and investment mobilization across all 54 AU member states. As a network, AAIN plays a critical role in bridging policy, practice, and entrepreneurship to empower African producers and build resilient, locally anchored economies.
Together, CDF Canada and AAIN will co-develop proposals, share knowledge, and align efforts to scale innovation in agribusiness incubation and cooperative capacity building. This partnership affirms the value of cooperative-led solutions in transforming not only food systems—but the economic futures of entire communities.
